Owen Connelly, age 11, has had a guitar in his hand and a melody in his ear ever since he picked up his first guitar at age 3. Since age 8 he has been playing and writing songs almost daily. Owen created the melodies and names for these two songs by himself when he was 10 years old. Over the next year, he developed the arrangements and performed these songs acoustically for small groups, and then backed by a full band of professional musicians in front of hundreds of people at Porchfest in Malden, Massachusetts in June of 2023.

Since then, Owen has worked on fine tuning his project and readying it for recording with our long-time great friend and talented music professional, Paul Natale. The recordings, mixing, and mastering are all done by Paul. All the vocals and lead guitar are Owen, supported by Sean, his music mentor and proud father.

A Note from our Family:

Owen is utilizing this first release as part of a B’nai Mitzvah fundraiser to get musical instruments into the hands of children and adults who have been displaced in Israel due to the events on October 7th, 2023. Thousands have been displaced and have lost their homes and possessions, including instruments. Music is a universal language and a healing art and evidence-based therapeutic practice. The money from every purchase of Owen’s songs will go directly into the hands of families in need of respite music activities for their children, and adults recovering from trauma in the form of instrument donations.
